A Joe
I will probably get flamed for this thing, but I thought it would be...neat I Guess
If you are a Ranger class, with no pet yet.
Considering I don't know how many times I have left Pre-searing with another Devourer Egg which seems pointless.
What I was thinking, how when you are getting readdy to go to Post-Searing, it says "2 Years Later" I was thinking it would be cool to have the Devourer Egg hatch and you have a baby Devourer to tag along with you, on a lower lvl like, lvl 2 (1 lvl for each year)
But you can only have one, if someone tries to go to the Collector and trade for multiple Eggs, the hatchling will just eat the other eggs and they will be lost...or something, leaving only 1 anyhow.
But I have always wanted a Joe

Flamed for what? I love Joe! Click!
The problem is that eggs don't quite fit into the standard "charm" that animals normally go through. Some other way to get Devourers would be nice.
And you don't have to get eggs through collectors, or have extra eggs. A quest gives you two devourer eggs, and two other quests each require an egg.

Damn, Joe is one of the best NPC's in the game, in the same range as Oink or the Frog.

Thats a really cool idea, it would be cool if as it leveled up it evolved, but instead of the usually stuff like hearty, elder etc, it could become rockshot, plague, whiptail etc.

No. I don't think I want to see more devourers than I already have to. They already took the least original monster they created and put it throughout the entire game. I don't need one following me.
But if you do... I don't see why not.

I feel that they really don't give Pets enough love in this game... I mean, barely any differences between the pets in terms of ability to fight, weakish skills, poor AI... and on top of that, they give us barely any choices for what we want the pet to be!
Devourers would be cool. Along with Moss Spiders, the Rabbit, and a Frog.
And would it honestly kill them to make pets better? If a Maguuma Spider can poison me, I want my giant Black Widow wannabe to be able to poison, too!

I agree that pets don't get enough attention. They really need to overhaul that attribute line.
If they put Joe in, I want to capture that damn pre-searing rabbit...
That would strike fear in the hearts of my enemies! Psycho Bunny... ATTACK!

I think it would also be a cool idea to have pet food, something that makes having a pet a little more challenging when they reach a certain level. Like you need food to keep them healthy, and the healthier they are, the more damage they can inflict upon an enemy

Lineage II has this. It seems like a good idea, until you realize food costs the literal equivalent of 15k armor to keep in stock, and your pet starves to death.
Bad.

/signed. YAY, on the more pet choices. Nay, on the food/feeding them.
IMO anything in Tyria(GW) that isn't a Bi-ped should be tamable. How cool would it be for a Ranger/Necro(vica versa) to have a Hellhound as a pet?
